Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information this website collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. We have written it in plain English. If anything is unclear, email us at Jordan@sosadj.com and we will walk you through it.

1. Who we are

This website is operated by Jordan L. Eller, a California-licensed Public Adjuster (CA Public Adjuster License #2M45606; Individual License #4005444), doing business as SOS Public Adjusters. SOS Public Adjusters is a DBA of SOS Environmental, LLC. Our mailing address is 100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd., Suite 201, Thousand Oaks, CA 91360.

2. Information we collect

We only collect what we need to respond to you and to perform the services you request.

Information you give us directly

• Contact form / lead form: name, phone number, email address, property address, loss type, insurance carrier, date of loss, and any message or details you choose to share.
• Fire Risk Score lookup tool: a property address. The address is used to query the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) for the official Fire Hazard Severity Zone. The address is not stored after the lookup unless you also submit a separate claim review request.
• Phone calls and emails you initiate: any information you share with us in those conversations.

Information collected automatically

• Server logs: our hosting provider may collect basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, referring page, and time of visit. This is used for security and to keep the site running.
• Cookies: this website currently does not set any tracking or advertising cookies. If we add analytics or advertising tools in the future, this policy will be updated and you will see a cookie notice on the site.

3. How we use your information

• To respond to your inquiry and provide a free claim review.
• To follow up about your potential or active claim.
• To send you information you have requested.
• To maintain records required by California insurance regulations for licensed public adjusters.
• To improve the website and the services we offer.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We share it only in these limited cases:

• SOS Public Adjusters (license of record): Jordan L. Eller operates as a 1099 contractor for SOS Public Adjusters in some engagements. If you sign an engagement contract, your information may be shared internally as required to perform the services.
• Service providers: we use Netlify for website hosting, Google Workspace (including Gmail and Google Sheets) for email and record-keeping, and other vendors that process information on our behalf. These vendors are bound by their own privacy and security obligations.
• Your insurance carrier and other parties to your claim: when you engage us to negotiate a claim, we share information with your carrier, contractors, and other parties as needed to perform the work you hired us to do.
• When required by law: we comply with valid legal requests, subpoenas, and court orders.

5. Your California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):

• Right to know what personal information we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with.
• Right to delete personal information we hold about you, subject to legal record-keeping requirements that apply to licensed public adjusters.
• Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
• Right to opt out of any future "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (we currently do neither).
• Right to non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email Jordan@sosadj.com with "Privacy request" in the subject line. We will respond within 45 days.

6. Phone and text communication

When you submit a form on this site that includes a phone number, you consent to being contacted by Jordan L. Eller or SOS Public Adjusters by phone call or text message at the number provided, in connection with your inquiry. Standard message and data rates may apply. You may opt out of further phone or text contact at any time by replying STOP to any text or by emailing Jordan@sosadj.com.

7. Email communication

If you submit a form or email us, we may send you follow-up emails related to your inquiry or claim. We do not run a marketing email list. Every email we send includes our physical mailing address and a way to reach a human. You can ask us to stop emailing you at any time by replying to any email or contacting Jordan@sosadj.com.

8. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as needed to provide the services you requested and to comply with California recordkeeping requirements for licensed public adjusters. Records related to active and prior claim engagements are typically retained for at least seven years from the date of last activity. If you ask us to delete your information, we will delete what we can while retaining any records the law requires us to keep.

9. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including using reputable hosting and email providers and limiting access to your information to people who need it to do their work. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children

This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be noted on the website.
